Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her highly commendable performances in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes and awards, among them her first Oscar for her film Piano. Her acting career started with Broadway by performing in a range of Broadway as well as Off Broadway initiatives. Since her primary school years, she was Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. Her mumps made her blind and deaf in one ear. However, she did not allow this to stop her from becoming an actress. At college, she was a theatre student and later moved to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Through a random encounter, she got stuck in an elevator with writer Beth Henley and the two were a team in Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. When she moved to Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and scored the role of a co-star on Swing Shift. Her appearances in film, television and movies over the course of her career. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
